Enabling Aboriginal men to reengage with the community

Facilitated by the male multidisciplinary team at Ingkintja, the Jaila Wanti Program works with men pre-release and post-release from prison to access the support necessary to reengage with their community.

The program aims to get & keep men out of prison to enable them to fulfil their role in the community. Program elements include:

  • Developing or redeveloping social skills lost through time in prison
  • Developing or redeveloping life skills lost through time in prison, such as cooking, shopping & cleaning
  • Supporting men to reconnect with culture family & friends lost during time in prison
  • Assisting and supporting men in finding a job, including job search and character references
