Diabetes: Everybody’s Business

In partnership with Menzies School of Health Research, Congress held a Diabetes: Everybody’s Business Community Day.

The aim of the day was to come together and raise awareness about diabetes and what people can do to stay healthy with a focus on both prevention and management.

Sadly recent research has shown that Central Australia has the highest rates of type 2 diabetes in the world with up to 40% of adults having type 2 diabetes, so talking and learning about diabetes, health checks and prevention is vital in closing the gap.

Nearly 200 people attended with excellent engagement from young and old attendees at the stalls.

You can still receive services from any other Congress clinic. Please call the next closest clinic to you and ask for an appointment. Kele.
