NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC week this year was themed Our Languages Matter, and this year plenty of activities and events were run around this theme, and in the general spirit of culture and celebration.

The week culminated in the traditional NAIDOC march from ANZAC Oval to the Community Day at the Town Council lawns. A late addition to the program was the Governor General, who made some opening remarks. This was followed by local speakers, musicians and dancers.

Congress’ Health promotion team represented Congress, running a very popular stall included health and service promotion, and membership recruitment. Thanks also to our Ingkintja heroes, Tony Linn & Peter Braun for their efforts in cooking the BBQ to feed a hungry mob.
