Congress Arrurlenge visits NT Archives

The Congress History Project team has started work on cataloguing and storing items from Congress’ 50 year history. Recently they were invited to look behind the scenes of the archive rooms of Library and Archives NT in Alice Springs. This is a keeping place for important historical materials about the Northern Territory.

While all NT historical materials are catalogued, not all documents and photos are able to be viewed online. But saying that, if you find something listed online you want to look at, you can arrange to view the item in person.

The behind the scenes look included how the catalogue and archive storage systems are organised so that historical items are kept safe and secure and how archives staff can quickly and easily access items if someone has requested to view them.

It’s great to have the help and support of the dedicated and knowledgeable staff of Library and Archives NT for our Congress History Project.
