Congress continues to provide support to families and individuals affected by ‘Ice’ and other drug use through its comprehensive and expert Social & Emotional Wellbeing Service (SEWB).
SEWB provides Aboriginal people and their families with access to culturally appropriate support for social and emotional wellbeing as well as related physical health. It is based on a model of three streams of care; providing therapeutic, social and cultural supports.
SEWB staff are appropriately skilled in providing the necessary support to people affected by alcohol and other drug use, including ‘ice’ use.
Clients with addictions can access GP services through any Congress clinic where referrals can be made to the SEWB suite of services.
Young people can access support services at headspace Alice Springs.
The Congress ICE Community Support Group meetings held previously have been put on hold until demand resurfaces.
