All services at Ampe Kenhe Apmere Congress Child Care Centre will resume this week as building works carried out on the premises over the last several months are completed.
The upgrade forms part of the Congress Early Years Improvement Plan – a plan to improve the capacity and quality of the service, to bring it in line with national standards for early childhood education and care, seen as fundamental to closing the gap in health, education and employment outcomes between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.
The modernised facility will provide support to additional staffing, with significant investment in recruitment and staff development another key focus of the plan.
Congress Childcare staff extend their thanks to parents and carers for their patience during this time, and to Congress’ Main Clinic staff for their support and assistance during the temporary relocation of the service to Congress’ Main Clinic Service located next to the childcare.
Congress is currently pursuing further funding though the Commonwealth Department of Education to upgrade the childcare’s outdoor play environment.
Congress Childcare will host a celebration on completion of the full Congress Early Years Improvement Plan.
