Annual General Meeting & Member Director Election Notice
All members of the corporation are advised that an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the members of the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation will take place as follows:
- Time: 11am
- Date: Thursday 27 November 2025
- Place: Mparntwe Health Hub, 127 Todd Street Mparntwe (Alice Springs)
On arrival to the AGM, members should check the register of members and update their personal information (if required).
Proxies are not allowed pursuant to Rule 4.12 of the Congress Rule book.
Members may participate in the meeting by video conference upon request. Please contact the Congress Governance Unit by no later than 20 November 2024 via email at governance@caac.org.au (or on 0461 327 472 or 0408 153 826) to obtain a meeting link.
Member Director Elections
Nominations for Member Director positions on the Board of Directors for Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation (Congress) have now closed and voting is now open. All Congress members are invited to vote and results will be announced at the 2025 AGM.
At the 16 October 2025 Board meeting, the Board considered all applications for nominations against eligibility criteria set out in the Board Charter and Rule Book. This resulted in 8 eligible nominations for 4 vacancies.
Of these, one vacancy is an identified youth representative position. As there was only one eligible nomination in that category, and in accordance with our Rule Book, Janaya Kopp will be elected unopposed to the youth representative position and will be appointed at the AGM.
As there are 7 eligible nominations for the remaining 3 Member Director vacancies, an election is required. All members have been sent voting information, including ballots, via mail. You can also download the Member Director Candidate Biographies.
Members who have not received ballots may arrange to collect a replacement pack by emailing governance@caac.org.au or requesting in person at the Mparntwe Health Hub at 127 Todd Street Mparntwe (Alice Springs). Note, replacement ballots must be collected in person.
Ballots can be lodged by post by 5.00pm ACST on Friday, 21 November 2025 OR in person at Congress Mparntwe Health Hub, 127 Todd St, Alice Springs before 5.00pm ACST on Monday, 24 November 2025.
Last minute voting will be allowed in person between 10:00am and 11:00am prior to the commencement of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 11:00am on Thursday, 27 November 2025 at Mparntwe Health Hub, 127 Todd Street in Alice Springs.
This process enables any member who is unable to attend the AGM to vote in advance. A similar process has been implemented in previous years, resulting in a welcomed increase in our membership voting.
The election result will be announced at the AGM.
