headspace gets Colourful Against Homophobia

headspace chalks up a DIY rainbow crossing in support of IDAHO.

The International Day Against Homophobia, held on May 17 every year, is a rallying event offering an opportunity for people to get together and reach out to one another.

Last week, headspace Alice Springs invited the public to come along to headspace to help create a rainbow crossing to show support for the LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex) community.

headspace provided snacks and chalk and there was a great attendance, with the NT Aids and Hepatitis Council and Alice Pride also joining in to show their support.

headspace Alice Springs is a service for all young people aged 12-25 years living in the Alice Springs region. More than just mental health, headspace is a one-stop-shop where young people can come and talk to professionals who are specially trained to help 12 to 25-year-olds deal with any health problems or questions they may have.
