Launch of Kidney Action Network
NGOs from across the Northern Territory and Central Australia, including the cross border regions of Northern Territory, Western Australia and South Australia, are coming together this Thursday 14 March to launch the Kidney Action Network (KAN).
John Paterson – CEO of AMSANT, Sarah Brown – CEO of Western Desert Nganampa Walytja Palyantjaku Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation, Andrea Mason – Co-ordinator of Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council and Donna Ah Chee – CEO of Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation, will be amongst those present to say a few words about the launch and answer questions from the media.
The KAN aims to lobby for good planning in the prevention and treatment of renal disease and equitable distribution of renal services, with an emphasis on the decentralisation of certain services into more remote locations.
The public launch of KAN will take place at 10am on Thursday 14 March on the Alice Springs Town Council lawns, outside the Andy McNeill Room.
Members of the media are invited to cover the event, chat with people who are using renal services, and enjoy a healthy morning tea of water and fruit.
