About boosters
Many people are now due for their booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The covid vaccine helps stop you getting infected with COVID-19 and passing it to others. The vaccine also stops you getting very sick or even dying if you do get the virus.
A booster is an extra COVID-19 vaccine needle to help keep you safe from COVID-19.
Having the booster will make sure the first doses are strong and last a long time.
All Congress clients can get the COVID-19 vaccine booster needle at Congress.
You can get your booster shot if you are over 16 years old and it has been at least three months since your second COVID-19 vaccine. A booster will continue to protect you, your family and your community against COVID-19.
To get your booster you can:
- Make an appointment by calling 1800 570 688
- Walk in to the vaccine clinic at Gap Clinic Monday – Friday between 8.30-5pm
- Walk in to your closest Congress clinic Monday – Friday between 8.30-5pm
All households will soon receive a letter from the Australian Government about this. If you have had your booster you won’t need to do anything else about this.
