Congress programs have all been through major developments over the past few years and are now working in a manner which has enhanced the capacity of our staff who in turn, are delivering better services to our community

Well Baby Clinic
A clinic for babies and children from birth to 4 years. The clinic provides growth-weight-development checks, breast feeding support, how to start solid foods, what are good foods for babies and children, immunisation and referral for a hearing check.

Frail Aged & Disabled
Health Workers and a Doctor will visit aged and disabled people in their homes if they are unable to visit the Congress Clinic due to physical disability or frailty. If you have an elderly relative or friend who needs visits, give one of our Health Workers a call

Early Childhood Program
A home visiting service for families whose babies are under 2 years old. This home visiting service assists families in the healthy development of their children.

Remote Services
A Health Worker visits outstations within 100kms of Alice weekly. These include Yambah, Hamilton Downs, Undoolya, Jay Creek, Northern Titjikala Outstations..

This program conducts health checks for males.
Diabetes, kidney and heart disease are a major cause of male death

Counselling Service
The Social Emotional Well-Being Branch offers counselling and other support to community members with family problems, and other difficulties. Aboriginal counsellors and psychologists may be able to help you manage things better.

Congress Youth Outreach Program
This program runs from 19 Gap Rd and is intended to encourage and assist young people to stay at school, find jobs and help them with personal problems they might have. Aboriginal Youth Workers and a Psychologist are available to help.

Congress Childcare
The centre is a safe and clean environment designed to meet the needs Aboriginal children from 6 months to 5 years. There is full-time, part-time and emergency care available, and childcare fee rebate can be arranged.

Congress Education Branch runs the Certificate III in Aboriginal Health Work to enable Aboriginal people to get skills and training to become a registered Health Worker

Support such as explaining ear problems, medicine, speech testing, hearing aids and ear nose and throat specialist opinions can be arranged through the Hearing Team.

Pharmacy can only give medication to Congress patients. The Pharmacy provides education to clients on regular medication.
