Accreditations and certifications
Medical clinic accreditation
Congress Medical services is accredited with the Australian General Practice Accreditation Ltd (AGPAL)

Health Education and training Branch
Congress is a registered by the Department of Education, Employment and training as a registered training organisation (RTO) - A Quality Endorsed Training Authority

Childcare accreditation
The Ampe-kenhe Apmere Childcare Centre has a 3 year operating licence from the Territory Health Services’ Children’s Services Unit

Dental accreditation
Congress has a Certificate of Accreditation for Safe Infection Control Standards for three years up to 2006.
Issued by the Australian Medical Association and Australian Dental Association (SA Branch).

Human Resources certification
The Congress enterprise bargaining agreement (EBA) is certified by the Australian Industrial Relations Commission and will govern employment conditions until 2006

Alukura accreditation
In 2003 Congress Alukura received Australasian College of Midwives Independent Practising midwife Accreditation (IPM)

Congress Quality Assurance Programs
A new system, the Quality Assurance Monitor (QAMON) was introduced in 2003.This program allows the Services Branch to conduct a file audit against set criteria. The file audit assures that practitioners are conducting their consultations in accordance with Congress’s clinical expectations such as using the CARPA Standard Treatment Manual protocols-regarded as best practice for remote and rural health management in Central Australia


Complaints
Following the introduction of the Health and Community Services Complaints Act 1998 (NT) Congress now has a policy and procedure for dealing with all complaints

The Congress Client Complaints Procedure:
1. Looks at your concerns and addresses them in a fair and appropriate way;
2. Aims to achieve a satisfactory outcome, and improve our service.
